CHRYSALIS
A dance poetry embodying the nature and the metamorphosis process. The chrysalis starts out soft and skin-like, which gradually hardens to form a protective shell, resonating the current mankind situation. However, not every caterpillar can transform into a butterfly, I wonder if we can truly break free from the inherited burden of the past and future?

Borderline Disorder
"The feeling of slight deviation in life tumbling into a loose chaos."
「生命裡有這種一點點偏差得快要失控的感覺。」
The severeness of Covid-19 poses as an obstacle to the live performance. This work is an experiment to incorporate other medium during the choreographic process as a means to document the work and inspire the creative process.

Improvisation of three moving subjects
“I’m an eye. A mechanical eye. I, the machine, show your world the way only I can see. I free myself for today and forever from human immobility. This is I, the machine, manoeuvring in the chaotic movements, recording one movement after another in the most complex combinations.
Freed from the boundaries of time and space, I co-ordinate any and all points of the universe, wherever I want them to be. My way leads towards the creation of a fresh perception of the world. This I explain in a new way the world unknown to you.”
-Dizga Vertov 1923
Moving body 1, moving body 2 and moving camera.
In contemporary performance, we talk so much about movement itself, its own value, its meaning or its purpose in the eyes of the creators, performers or viewers.
What does this meaning to you?
The result of three moving objects in a traditional Hong Kong columbarium.
Improvisation to the music "Hemete" by Trah Njim.

你那邊幾點 What Time is it There?
On a sunny day in Helsinki, missing home and the people I love.
There are things that is beyond verbal expression, I can only create something that resonates with the ones who understand.
Thank you Tsai Ming-Liang for the film which speaks the unspeakable, so that I can carry my thoughts into this small work along the messages you have embedded in your film.
